Why You Can Trust Walk Fido to Walk Your Dog

Most dog walking services do not have the proper training and experience to do what we do. Professional dog walking isn't something anyone can just decide to do. Dog walking is a skill that needs to be learned just like driving a car, especially in an urban environment like downtown Los Angeles.

For every extra dog we walk, it requires more focus and skill to properly maintain the pack and handle distractions. Our walkers go through a two-week training program before they are allowed to walk groups by themselves. We teach basic dog psychology, effective non-verbal communications, specific training to correctly use industry-approved collars (choke, martingale, Gentle Leaders, prong, etc.) and proper urban dog etiquette.

Downtown LA, Silver Lake, Echo Park, Atwater Village and Eagle Rock a unique environments for dogs and we are well-versed in how to safely navigate the unique situations downtown and adjacent environments present - from elevators and narrow hallways to large public gatherings (think ArtWalk!) and off-leash dogs/strays that approach.

  • We do a thorough, complimentary introduction session with you and your dog to capture a complete profile so we know exactly what they need.

  • You will receive regular communication that will track your dog's progress & any important information we learned while visiting with your dog.

  • Walk Fido staff live and work downtown. We travel to and from most of our dog walking visits on foot or on bike, reducing our carbon footprint. We believe in living where you work and working where you live, to be as eco-friendly as possible.

  • We pick-up poop with Mutt Mitts -- 100% biodegradable plastic bags that are kind to the earth.

  • We will treat you, your pets, your home and your property with respect.

  • We are fully bonded & insured as members of National Association of Professional Pet Sitters (NAPPS).

  • Every Walk Fido dog walker has been Red Cross Certified in Canine First Aid.

  • We all have dogs too - so we know just how important it is to know your dogs are well taken care of while you are working, out of town, or on vacation.

  • We are available whenever you need us -- including evenings, weekends & holidays. We work seven days a week from 8am - 8pm. Most services cannot offer coverage when you need it, we can and have been for 15 years.
